The Institute is working closely with the MME/UNDP funded Namibia Renewable Energy Programme (NAMREP) in addressing various barriers to renewable energy in Namibia.
TC1- NTCRE
The solar contractors and installers are registered by the National Technical Committee on Renewable Energy or Technical Committee One (TC1).
There are currently three (3) registration categories
Solar Thermal Installer,
Photovoltaic (PV) Installer and Supplier.
Registration conditions and instructions are in the application forms.
TC1 is one of the technical committees of the Namibian Standards Institution responsible for promotion of technical standards. The Committee is comprised of members representing REEEI, Ministry of Mines and Energy, NamPower, Renewable Energy Industry Association of Namibia (REIAoN), Electricity Control Board, Association of Solar Installers and Ministry of Works and Transport.
